This City is exists as a projection work as well as a the Thiscityis.com website, where a city is described through a continuous list of statements that are sourced from various social media and online classified platforms. Statements range from personal opinions to public announcements to commercial texts and political statements. The random listing of these different descriptions, messages and announcements of what ‘the City is’ is the impossible attempt to capture the many layers, people, events and emotions of a city that exist online in digital ‘public’ spaces. Projected back into the actual city ‘This City is’ re-contextualized and confronts online content produced by end-users with the physical public space.

This City is in April 2021 as part of O,Miami Festival 2021
This City is was projected throughout various venues in Miami: the Pink Pussycat Club, the New World Symphony, Biltmore, Coral Gables Museum, Coral Way Building, Bird Bowl, Don Bailey Flooring, Coconut Grove Playhouse, Byron Carlyle, Super Wheels, American Airlines Area. The writing was collected from Twitter, Craigslist, Meetup and Reddit in English, Creole and Spanish.
